Non- consensual media sharing has been increasing very exponentially which results to many cyber crime and issues, for this problem Actress Sara Ali Khan and IAS turned Actor, Abhishek Singh Join hand to provide support to those girls who are the victim to now consensual media sharing. These two actors visited University Of Delhi’s college Miranda House to interact with young girls over this issue.
No Shame, a discussion show event, was organised by the United by Blood organisation in collaboration with NSS and the Department of Chemistry at Miranda House College. The actress talked about how sharing young girls’ photographs online without their permission has a significant impact on their mental health throughout her lecture.
Under this campaign, many big women lawyers will join who will help the girls legally. Apart from this, there are numbers from Telegram to WhatsApp where girls can put their problems. Those girls who are being victims of some blackmail will be able to come forward. Under this campaign, seminars will be held across the country where girls will be made aware, efforts will be made to convince them that the victim is not you, it is the boys who are doing this, those who are accused need to hide their faces and not the victim. Along with the seminar, those girls will be helped, they will get free legal aid, and the police complaint will be lodged. Apart from this, they will be counselled, strengthened that they do not need to be ashamed and they can fight their own battles.
In light of the increasing number of incidences of image abuse that are coming to light, even Minister of Law and Justice Kiran Rijiju yesterday complimented the actress for joining the “No Shame Movement” and raising awareness against non-consensual image sharing among young girls.
