The news about Vidya Balan reuniting with Ellipsis Entertainment producers Tanuj Garg and Atul Kasbekar after the success of their 2017 social comedy Tumhari Sulu was out a few days ago. We learned that after months of deliberation, they’ve settled on a genuine slice-of-life drama that will hit the floors once the COVID-19 lockdown is lifted. We’ve got more great news about her future project.
Vidya Balan’s yet-to-be-titled Ellipsis Entertainment project will also feature Pratik Gandhi, the emerging Bollywood star. In this romantic comedy, the star of Scam 1992 will be romantically matched opposite Vidya. It’s said to revolve around two couples, with Vidya and Pratik playing the first loving coupling, while the directors have yet to cast the second.
The film, which Swati Iyer Chawla co-produced, is reported to be fighting social patriarchy through a new-age storyline that hasn’t been tried in the Hindi film business before.
With this Tanuj Garg production, Shirsha Guha Thakurta will make her feature directorial debut. Pre-production for this Vidya Balan starrer film is set to begin soon, with a 45-day filming schedule planned in Mumbai and South India later this year.
When PeepinMoon approached Ellipsis Entertainment’s Tanuj Garg, he issued the following statement:
“Untrue. The casting is nowhere close to locked. In fact even the scripting is still in progress. We can announce only when we are ready.”
