Bollywood fans received a delightful surprise as longtime collaborators Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar shared the screen once again, albeit for a Myntra commercial.
The ad, promoting the online fashion retailer’s upcoming sale, features a lighthearted argument between the two stars.
Karan Johar And Shah Rukh Khan’s Fun Myntra Ad With A Pinch Of Argument
The commercial, shared by Myntra on Instagram, opens with Shah Rukh Khan hopping into a car after an event. As he prepares to make a call, Karan Johar playfully crashes the scene, questioning Khan’s decision to star in the Myntra ad.
Johar jokingly expresses concern that if everyone has access to affordable international brands during the sale, it will leave him out of the fashion spotlight. Khan counters by highlighting the appeal of the sale – international brands at bargain prices.
Karan asks, “Aap ye Myntra end of reason sale ka ad kaise kar sakte ho? SRK responds, “Myntra ke EORS pe international brands hai at lowest prices. What’s the problem?”
Kjo then says, “Problem ye hai ke har koi global brands pehenega, fashionable lagega, toh mujhe kaun dekhega?”
Fans were thrilled to see the iconic duo back together, flooding social media with comments expressing their desire for a full-fledged film collaboration. Many praised Khan and reaffirmed his status as a Bollywood legend.
While this is not a movie reunion, it marks a return to working together for Khan and Johar after their last feature film, My Name is Khan, in 2010. Johar did offer Khan a cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016.
Shah Rukh Khan: Work Front
On the professional front, Khan enjoyed a successful comeback in 2023 with three releases: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. He is reportedly gearing up for King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh and rumoured to star his daughter Suhana Khan.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar has a busy schedule with his production company, with Mr & Mrs Mahi slated for release at the end of May.
