The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer directed by Atlee has quickly become one of the most anticipated films in recent times. After securing Nayanthara for the project, we’ve learned that the filmmakers have approached actress Aakanksha Singh about joining the cast.

Aakanksha, who previously appeared in Varun Dhawan’s Badrinath Ki Dulhania, recently made news after being cast in Ajay Devgn’s MayDay. A well-placed industry source tells Bollywood Hungama about her being approached for the Atlee directorial, “Filmmakers are always looking for fresh pairings and fresh faces. Given the fact that Aakanksha has not been seen much on the big screen it is quite possible that the makers decided to approach her for a part.”
Talking about details of Aakanksha Singh’s role, the source continues, “Right now talks are still on and Aakanksha is yet to sign the dotted line. Once she comes on board for the film will details of her role be made available.”
While there has yet to be an official announcement about Aakanksha being cast in the film, we have been told that it will happen in the coming weeks. In terms of the film itself, Khan will play a double role in the untitled project, which is being prepared on a big pan-India scale. According to sources, Atlee has given the film a working title of Jawaan and has cast Marathi actress Rutuja, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Yogi Babu, and Sunil Grover in key roles.
