14 Years Of Chak De! India: Shah Rukh Khan gets nostalgic as he shares a post thanking the “young ladies” and the team of Chak De! India

Kabir Khan, played by Shah Rukh Khan in the 2007 film Chak De! India, is a memorable character. It was an uplifting patriotic film about an Indian coach who led an underdog women’s hockey team to victory in the world championship. Even 14 years after its premiere, the film’s dialogues, soundtrack, and performance are still remembered.

Shah Rukh Khan thanked the team on social media on Thursday, two days after the film celebrated its 14th anniversary. Khan praised the girls and for making him the film’s “gunda” in a hazy selfie.

The Badshah of Bollywood shared a selfie and in the caption, he wrote, “Just felt like thanking all the young ladies of Chak De India for making the film such a beautiful experience. And Shimit, Adi, @yrf, #MirRanjanNegi, @jaideepsahni, @sudeepdop, @Sukhwindermusic and all involved with this labour of love for making me the ‘Gunda’ of the film….”

Shah Rukh Khan coaches a women’s hockey team to World Cup victory in the 2007 sports drama Chak De! India. As members of the women’s hockey team, the film starred Vidya Malavade, Sagarika Ghatge, Shilpa Shukla, Tanya Abrol, Chitrashi Rawat, Shubhi Mehta, Anaitha Nair, Arya Menon, Kimi Laldawla, Masochon Zimik, Sandia Furtado, Nichola Sequeira, Kimberly Miranda, Seema Azmi, Raynia Mascerhan.

Chak De! India won the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. It was directed by Shimit Amin and is regarded as one of Bollywood’s most iconic sports films. The movie was a box office hit that also managed to impress reviewers.
