EXCLUSIVE: Rumours Quashed, Shah Rukh Khan Is NOT Shooting A Song In Cape Town As King Team Lines Up Key Film Portions And A Track For Suhana Khan

Rumours of Shah Rukh Khan flying to Cape Town for a song shoot on King have been doing the rounds, but the real plan is more specific and far more telling. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Shah Rukh Khan is not travelling there to shoot a song. The Cape Town leg is being prepared for key portions of the film, while a separate song component in that schedule is being designed around Suhana Khan.

That clarification lands at an important moment for King, a film that has attracted intense attention from the moment it took shape as a theatrical collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. With location chatter fuelling fresh assumptions around the production, this update firmly separates rumour from the actual shooting plan now in place.

What The Cape Town Schedule Actually Involves

Siddharth Anand shared a story on instagram with stunning visual of capetown. As usual few notorious rumours mongers started spreading rumours on social media that Shah Rukh shooting a song with Deepika in capetown.

When we tried to dig further we came to know that Shah Rukh Khan is currently in Jamnagar and he is attending celebration of Anant Ambani. Also there is a King schedule pending which includes key sequences and song featuring Suhana Khan. Reportedly there is one more dramatic portion for which SRK might shoot couple of scenes.

The Cape Town schedule is centred on crucial narrative portions of King, not on a Shah Rukh Khan song shoot. The song being planned as part of this leg is tied to Suhana Khan, while the larger schedule is meant to cover major stretches of the film.

Siddharth-Anand-King

King is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The confirmed cast includes Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi. The action thriller is set for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.

The production’s location planning has already seen adjustments. Work that had been discussed for Dubai was later shifted to Mumbai, indicating that the team is reshaping schedules around execution and filming requirements. In that context, the Cape Town clarification matters because it shows exactly how the makers are prioritising story-driven material within a tightly managed production calendar.

That scheduling clarity also matters for what King represents in Shah Rukh Khan’s current film journey, especially as the project is being mounted as his next major theatrical event.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Shah Rukh Khan’s last theatrical phase was defined by an exceptional 2023, when Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki all released in cinemas. Pathaan and Jawan emerged as major blockbusters, while Dunki added another successful theatrical title to the same year. Since then, he has not had a new original OTT release, making King his next confirmed big-screen outing.

That is why every production development around the film is being watched closely. King places Shah Rukh Khan back in the action space with Siddharth Anand, while also marking a major theatrical launch point for Suhana Khan after her screen debut in The Archies on Netflix in 2023. For him, the film extends a strong theatrical run into a fresh collaboration with new family and franchise-like curiosity around it. For Suhana, it is a high-visibility move into mainstream Hindi cinema under one of the industry’s most heavily followed banners.
