Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the company has acquired the international distribution rights on a minimum guarantee model worth Rs 175 crore, setting an all-time overseas record for an Indian film.
Phars Films Steps In With A Record Mg Deal
The scale of this agreement stands out because overseas distribution deals for Hindi films in recent years have largely leaned toward commission-based arrangements, where distributors take a fee instead of paying a guaranteed amount upfront. In this case, King has gone the other way, and in historic fashion.
The Rs 175 crore minimum guarantee is understood to be the highest ever committed for an Indian film in the overseas market. The figure comfortably goes past the previous benchmark zone, as no Indian title had crossed even the Rs 100 crore mark in overseas MG value before this. That instantly places King in a league of its own from a trade standpoint.

The shift is especially notable because Yash Raj Films had been associated with the film’s overseas rollout model earlier. Phars Films’ aggressive bid has now changed the picture, while also helping reduce a significant portion of the recovery pressure on the production side.
