Shah Rukh Khan Remembers Late Director Kundan Shah And Iconic Romantic Character Sunil From Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa In This Nostalgic Post

Released in 1994, “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa” stars Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi. It has completed 29 years today. The romance-drama was directed by Kundan Shah made reportedly on a budget of Rs 1.4 cr and earned Rs 5.5 cr at the Box-office.

It showcases the story of Sunil who makes every trick to win hearts of Anna, who is in love with Chris. In a desperate trying way to conquer her love, he develops misunderstandings between her and Chris.

It has been a personal favourite of SRK as he won Filmfare best actor critic award for it. According to Kundan Shah, SRK was very “adjusting” all along and lived in a guest house with a tariff of Rs 160 while shooting it. This is one of the best regarded and special films of the actor.

Yesterday fans celebrated 29 years of the classic and today Shah Rukh Khan tweeted himself remembering the late director Kundan Shah and iconic character of Sunil who loses his love in the end.

Here is the tweet:

It was remade in Telugu as Swapnalokam in 1999. SRK acquired the rights to the film under his banner Red Chillies Entertainment. Film’s special song ‘Ae Kaash Ke Hum’ won hearts of people and still is the favourite of many.

In this era of digital hyperbole and keypad anxiety, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’s sociocultural stability—which depicts Christians, Muslims, Parsis, Konkanis, and Gujaratis coexisting in comic harmony—seems more pertinent.

Also film won Shah Rukh Khan Best Actor critic Filmfare award in 1994.
