Shah Rukh Khan recently opened up about why he could not appear on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna‘s talk show. The actor apologized for his absence and shared some interesting details about watching all the episodes during a recent BBC Asian Network interview.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol were in London to celebrate a landmark moment in their careers. They unveiled a life-size statue of their iconic characters Raj and Simran at Leicester Square, marking the 30th anniversary of their beloved film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. During their interview with BBC Asian Network, the superstar was asked an interesting question about missing Kajol’s show.
The Shoulder Injury That Changed Plans
The interviewer asked Shah Rukh why, despite being such close friends with Kajol, he had not appeared on her recent talk show, Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle. The show was co-hosted by Kajol and Twinkle Khanna and featured several big Bollywood names, including Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.
Shah Rukh explained that a recent shoulder injury while filming King had prevented him from attending. He said he was doing a film right now and told Kajol about his situation. He mentioned that he had broken his shoulder and felt really bad about missing the show. The superstar added that he would have loved to have come on it.
The Food Joke
However, Shah Rukh could not resist adding his trademark wit to the conversation. He joked about one aspect of the show that he did not particularly enjoy watching. He said that, except for the food-eating part, there was just so much food to eat on the show. He emphasized that it was really too much, playing on the show’s title.
Watching All Episodes As Penance
Shah Rukh then apologized to both Kajol and Twinkle Khanna for not being able to appear on the show. He said he should have been on the show and wanted them to know something interesting. As penance for not appearing, he revealed that he had watched all the episodes of the talk show.
The show has frequently made headlines due to the hosts’ candid remarks. One notable moment was when Kajol suggested that marriage should have an expiry date with a renewal option, sparking widespread discussion on social media.
