In a recent interview at the News 18 Rising India Summit 2023, Siddharth Anand, the director of the upcoming film Pathaan, revealed some interesting details about the film’s post-credits scene. The scene features Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan merging their characters with their real selves, and discussing the state of the film industry and their star power.
According to Siddharth, the post-credits scene was actually shot as the conclusion of a train sequence but was later chopped out of the film during the edit. He explained that they struggled to find the right tone for the scene and ultimately decided to make it about the stars in real life, finding humour in their friendship and chemistry. The director credits Uday Chopra for the suggestion to add the scene at the end of the film, and Siddharth called it “mind blowing.”
In addition, Siddharth explained that he wanted to “play to the gallery” and make a reference to the popular Bollywood film Karan Arjun. He convinced Salman to say “bhaag Pathaan bhaag” in reference to “bhaag Arjun bhaag” from Karan Arjun, even though Salman was initially shy about it.
Overall, the post-credits scene in Pathaan promises to be a fun and entertaining addition to the film, showcasing the star power and chemistry between two of Bollywood’s biggest superstars.
