This is the first time Shah Rukh Khan is working with Nayanthara and filmmaker Atlee.

The recent information that Netflix has purchased the streaming rights to Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming movie Jawan for a staggering Rs 120 crore has gone viral online. After almost four years, SRK is back on the big screen with this movie. Following the failure of his last movie, Zero, at the box office, he took a break. The Badshah of Bollywood will appear in not one, but three movies in 2023 after a protracted sabbatical from the big screen. These include Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki with Taapsee Pannu, Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan for Yash Raj Films, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham also appear in Pathaan and Atlee’s Jawan.

However, there has been a lot of anticipation about Jawan ever since it was announced. This is the first time Shah Rukh Khan is working with Nayanthara and filmmaker Atlee. According to some sources, Netflix has just paid a record-breaking sum for the streaming rights to the movie.

Trade analyst Akshaye Rathi believes there is a chance that the movie will fetch an astronomical sum. He told IndiaToday, “Honestly, it’s too early and tough to tell what price have the streaming rights of Jawan been sold for. There is an assumption that it would have gone to Netflix like all other movies of Red Chillies Entertainment. They seem to have ongoing partnership with Netflix. However, it’s too early to really tell what price they have gone for. But yes, a set-up like that where you have got Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee coming together for an absolute ride of entertainer, I wouldn’t be surprised if it fetches a phenomenal astronomical price.”

Directed by Atlee, Jawan will hit the theatres on June 2, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
