Director Shankar Shanmugam has been working on two highly anticipated films, Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2. On May 9, 2023, Shankar shared an update on Twitter, revealing that he had wrapped up the climax schedule of Game Changer and was all set to start the next schedule with Kamal Haasan for Indian 2.
Game Changer is an action drama with current-day politics and will release in three languages – Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The film stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in lead roles and is jointly produced by Dil Raju and Shirish Garu under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations for a Pan-India release. Indian 2 is a sequel to the 1996 film Indian and stars Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simhaa, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in key roles. The film is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
Shankar has been giving regular updates on both films, leaving fans of the two stars excited. He has also been posting stills from the location without revealing any spoilers from the movie. The shooting of both films is expected to be completed in 2024.
About Game Changer And Indian 2
Readers would be aware that both the films are one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year and will be pan India projects. Game Changer is a political action thriller that reunites Ram Charan and Kiara Advani after their 2019 release Vinaya Vidheya Rama. The film is expected to feature some of the most stylish and high-octane stunts and also stars Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Jayaram, Sunil, Srikanth, Samuthirakani, and Nassar among others. It is slated to release in Telugu with dubbed versions in Tamil and Hindi.
On the other hand, Indian 2 takes forward the story of the popular character of freedom fighter turned vigilante Senapathy essayed by superstar Kamal Haasan. The film will also star Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady along with Rakul Preet Singh, Siddharth, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, among others. The film has kicked off after much delay in its schedule owing to mishaps on the sets as well as COVID-19.
