Since the PM Narendra Modi has announced the PM Cares fund many actors have come forward to do their contribution to fighting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Even though celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, and others have joined hands to support the government Akshay Kumar’s donation of RS. 25 crores donation made a huge buzz. While everyone is praising the actor Shatrughan Sinha isn’t really happy with that revelation.
Akshay Kumar first donated a whopping 25 crores to the PM Cares fund followed by 3 crores to BMC. However, as per Shatrughan Sinha, there was no need to reveal the amount by actors and turn this into a competition.
In an interview, the veteran actor indirectly took a dig at the Sooryavanshi actor. “It is downright offensive and demoralizing to hear someone has contributed Rs. 25 crores. Is this to say, you are going judge an individual’s volume of concern for the current crisis by the amount of money he gives away? In no part of the world do celebrities flaunt the amount they give for charity. Charitable causes are always a private affair. I fear showbiz is now in the danger of collapse, so now we have it being replaced by show-off biz,” Sinha was quoted as saying by the tabloid.
He also slammed the Industry members making it a competition, “When I hear someone has given Rs. 25 crores I wonder if the amount I will give is of any use. Stop it! Everyone is doing their best. Don’t make this into a ‘mine-is-bigger-than-yours’ school-boys’ competition,” added the actor.
