The controversy surrounding the Sandhya Theatre stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2 has escalated further, with serious accusations being made against actor Allu Arjun. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has called out the Telugu film industry, criticising the behaviour of celebrities following the tragic incident.
Telangana CM Questions Celebs Meeting Allu Arjun, Hurls Shocking Allegations
During an Assembly session, Reddy questioned why celebrities rushed to show solidarity with Allu Arjun after the stampede, rather than offering support to the victims. He said, “Did Allu Arjun lose a kidney, leg, or an eye? What was the need for the celebrities to rush to his residence to pay solidarity? Did anyone care about the injured boy? Did any celebrity go to the hospital to check on Sri Tej?”
Reddy made shocking allegations against the actor, stating that despite the police advising him against attending, Allu Arjun went ahead with his visit to the theatre for the premiere. A stampede occurred due to the overwhelming crowd, resulting in the death of a woman and the severe injury of her son. Reddy claimed that when the police informed Arjun about the woman’s death, the actor chose to stay inside the theatre.
Revanth Reddy went on to say, “That woman held her son’s hand even in her death. Hero’s private bouncers didn’t allow the police to go near him. The boy was taken to the hospital, and police came back to explain the severity of the situation to Allu Arjun. Only after the Police threatened to arrest him, Allu Arjun left the theatre. Even then, he stood on the car’s rooftop waving to the crowd. What kind of a human is he?”
Further Claims Reveal Allu Arjun Said Pushpa 2 Will Be HIT After Learning About Accident
AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi also condemned Allu Arjun for his “insensitive” behaviour. Owaisi claimed that despite the stampede and the death of the woman, the actor continued watching his film. “
As per my information, when Allu Arjun was informed about the stampede and the death of a person, he said ‘now the movie will be hit’,” Owaisi stated.
The incident took place on December 4, when a large crowd gathered at the Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad for the Pushpa 2 premiere. The stampede left 39-year-old woman dead and her son critically injured. Police have blamed the lack of crowd management by the theatre staff.
Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the stampede. He was later granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court after spending a night in jail.
