Siddharth Anand Calls Fighter His Best Work, Says ‘Time To Better It With Shah Rukh Khan’s King’ On Republic Day

As Fighter completes two years since its release, director Siddharth Anand marked the milestone with a heartfelt note reflecting on the film and its emotional impact. On Republic Day, the filmmaker took to X to thank audiences for the continued love for the Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer, calling it the proudest work of his career so far. The post has since sparked fresh conversation around Anand’s next ambitious outing, Shah Rukh Khan’s King.

Siddharth Anand Reflects On Fighter’s Journey And Emotional Core

Sharing his thoughts online, Siddharth Anand described Fighter as a deeply personal film for him. He wrote, “2 years of my best work. FIGHTER. The film I’m so proud of. Seeing so many scenes on my timeline reminded how beautiful those 2 scenes were. The scene between Patty and Saachi at the cemetery. And the scene with Minni and her father. Both the most emotional scenes I’ve ever shot. Will remain the most timeless. For me.”

The director’s note focused on the emotional resonance of the film rather than its scale, highlighting how specific character moments continue to stay with him even years after release. The post quickly gained traction, with fans revisiting scenes that defined the emotional heart of Fighter.

‘Time To Better It With King’, Says Siddharth Anand

Along with expressing gratitude, Anand also hinted at what lies ahead. Thanking audiences for their support, he added, “Thank you for the love. Now. Time to better it. KING.” The line was enough to set expectations soaring for his next directorial, which reunites him with Shah Rukh Khan after their blockbuster collaboration on Pathaan.

The statement positions King not just as another big scale spectacle, but as a film Anand intends to surpass his previous work with, both creatively and emotionally.
