Siddharth Anand’s Fighter To Release In 3D, Locks IMAX Version Too; Marks Hrithik Roshan’s First Film In Formats

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone‘s upcoming film Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, is all set to create history in Indian cinema. The film, which is touted as India’s first aerial action film, will reportedly release in 3D as well as IMAX formats, making it a visual spectacle for the audience.

Fighter to be first Hrithik and second Deepika film to release in 3D and IMAX

Fighter will be the first Hrithik Roshan film to release in 3D. For Deepika, Fighter would be the second feature film to release in the 3D and IMAX 3D format, after Padmavat. Interestingly, both the films are Republic Day releases.

According to a report by Pinkvilla, the director has decided to make Fighter a 3D film to enhance the experience of watching the high-octane action sequences on the big screen. The report also claims that the film will have an IMAX version, which will be specially designed for the IMAX theatres across the country.

A source close to the development told, “It’s an aerial action entertainer designed for a big screen experience and the idea is to transport the audience into the world of this adrenaline-thumping film.”

“Siddharth wants to take things a notch higher with Fighter and the premium format in addition to the usual release in 2D is a step in that direction,” the source added. The source continued and said, “The background score and music has also been conditioned for the Atmos & IMAX format giving a holistic theatrical experience.”

Speaking of the film, Siddharth, in a statement, asserted, “With Fighter, our objective has been to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, immersing the audience in an exhilarating journey through the skies. We’ve poured our passion into creating the biggest aerial action movie India has seen. We are aiming to create an unforgettable entertainment experience for our audiences.”

Siddharth Anand’s Fighter teaser to drop later this week

Fighter, which marks the first collaboration of Hrithik and Deepika, was announced on the occasion of Hrithik’s birthday on January 10, 2021. The film also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Talat Aziz in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Viacom18 Studios and Marflix Pictures.

The film’s shooting began in November 2022 and wrapped up in October 2023. The film was shot in various locations across India, including Assam, Hyderabad, Jammu & Kashmir and Mumbai. The film also features real-life Indian Air Force cadets.

Fighter is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, as it will showcase the chemistry of Hrithik and Deepika, who are considered to be among the most good-looking and talented actors in Bollywood. The film will also be a tribute to the Indian Air Force and its heroes, who protect the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. The film’s post-production work is currently underway and the makers are planning to release the film on Republic Day 2024.

Meanwhile, the Fighter Teaser is expected to drop later this week and will kick off the journey towards the film’s release. The music of Fighter, composed by Vishal and Shekhar, is said to be one of the major highlights of the film alongside the big aerial action sequences and dramatic high points.
