Many businesses, especially the entertainment industry, were slowed by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. With intensive vaccination campaigns underway and positive cases on the wane, the country is on the verge of resuming normalcy. However, the threat of a third wave remains huge. Things aren’t looking good, and it will be some time before movie theatres reopen.
Many filmmakers are opting for the digital route, thus the OTT platform stands tall. Shershaah, a war biography starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, is the most recent Bollywood film to go online. According to sources, the film will debut on Amazon Prime Video in August 2021. Karan Johar is the director and producer of this film.
Shershaah, which is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who died in the Kargil War and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, will be released on Amazon Prime Video. The film, which is co-produced by Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala, is said to have been sold for a good sum to the international streaming giant.
