Despite the absence of a Salman Khan release this Eid, the superstar has pulled out all the stops with his latest grand project, Sikandar.
Teaming up for the first time with acclaimed director AR Murugadoss, the action-packed spectacle is set to kick off filming in June 2024.
Murugadoss, currently juggling multiple projects, including one featuring Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan, is strategically planning to balance his commitments to ensure a seamless transition to Sikandar.
Salman Khan To Kickstart Sikandar Shoot From June 20?
According to insiders cited in a Mid-day report, Murugadoss is aiming to wrap up a significant portion of his ongoing project before diving into the Salman Khan starrer.
The initial schedule of Sikandar was slated for May, followed by a return to Sivakarthikeyan’s film in June. Come July, Murugadoss will be fully dedicated to steering the ship of Sikandar towards its Eid 2025 release.
Despite a tight schedule, the team is determined to meet the deadline, with Murugadoss assembling a dedicated crew to expedite the completion of his ongoing project.
Pre-production for Sikandar commenced in late May, with Mumbai as the primary shooting location, and Salman Khan gearing up for a photoshoot towards the end of the month, leading to principal photography starting post-June 20.
Salman Khan Wants To Perform Action Sequence Himself In Sikandar
Action sequences are taking precedence in Murugadoss’s vision, with choreography already underway. Salman Khan, known for his dedication to his craft, is leaving no stone unturned in preparing for the demanding action sequences, adapting his workout regimen to achieve peak physical condition.
Table reads with Khan and co-star Rashmika Mandanna are scheduled to begin in early June, with Mumbai and Hyderabad set to host a significant portion of the filming before the production embarks on an international schedule. Security measures are being tightened considering Khan’s past security concerns, with filming locations kept under wraps until necessary.
Sikandar marks Murugadoss’s much-anticipated return to Hindi cinema after an eight-year hiatus since Akira (2016). The project also reunites Khan with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, known for blockbuster collaborations such as Kick, Judwaa, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
