The second teaser of Salman Khan’s Sikandar has dropped, but does it bring anything fresh? Not really. Packed with explosive action, intense dialogues, and Salman’s intense death stare, it follows the typical mass entertainer formula.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film stars Salman alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal. It is set to release on March 28.
Sikandar Teaser Has Usual Action And Cliche Dialogues
The teaser starts with Salman’s character Sanjay as he reveals the story behind his name. His grandmother fondly called him Sikandar, but the name isn’t just sentimental as it also carries a ‘mission’.
Salman delivers a heavy-handed dialogue: “Insaaf nahi, saaf karne aaya hoon.” (I’m not here for justice; I’m here to wipe out corruption.) Another dialogue he says is “Kayde mein raho… faide mein raho. Warna shamshaan ya kabristaan mein raho.”
Action Overload, But No Substance
The 80-second teaser is all about Salman beating up goons, throwing them into the air with ease and dropping filmy dialogues. He plays the saviour once again, taking justice into his own hands.
While the plot remains a mystery, Rashmika Mandanna appears briefly as the leading lady. A few flashy dance sequences hint at some masala moments, but nothing that stands out.
In recent years, Salman has mostly stuck to cameos in Pathaan, Singham Again, and Baby John. His last lead role in Tiger 3 (2023) did decent business but failed to create the expected magic.
Compared to Pathaan and Jawan, it underperformed. His earlier release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, was also a letdown. Now, Sikandar has the pressure of bringing back Salman’s box office dominance.
Shot in Hyderabad and Mumbai, Sikandar reunites Salman with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, the man behind Kick and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
The film promises larger-than-life action and a power-packed story, but the teaser doesn’t show anything unique.
Will Sikandar truly shake things up, or is it just another mass entertainer sticking to a tried-and-tested formula? We’ll only know after watching future assets and the entire film.
