The teaser for Salman Khan’s much-awaited film Sikandar has left many fans underwhelmed and disappointed. Released on December 28, the teaser was originally set to drop the day before but was delayed due to the passing of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
The teaser has performed great in terms of views. However, the brief 1-minute-42-second video has sparked more criticism than excitement.
Fans Call Sikandar Teaser Copy Of Jawan, Animal And Pathaan
Instead of the action-packed thrill one might expect from a Salman Khan movie, the teaser seems to have missed the mark. Social media quickly erupted with reactions, many comparing it to heavily ‘inspired’ from Jawan.
Here are the few reactions:
One user wrote, “All around the SOCIAL MEDIA negative reviews coming from #SikandarTeaser
Even the well known YouTubers has been completely denied #SalmanKhan in short an upcoming biggest DISASTER for Bollywood. Nothing can save this film. Save the tweet.”
What Went Wrong?
While Salman Khan’s look in the teaser was praised, his energy levels were heavily criticised. His performance appeared lethargic, and the lack of enthusiasm seemed to detract from the otherwise high-octane style of the teaser.
Some also noted that his dialogue delivery lacked conviction, recalling previous criticisms, such as his cameo in Baby John, where he was seen as overly casual with his lines.
One particular dialogue from the teaser, “Suna hai bahut saare log mere peeche pade hain.. bas mere mudne ki der hai” has been widely interpreted as a subtle jab at the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, with whom Salman Khan has had a long-standing feud.
However, rather than adding intrigue, the dialogue and its delivery seemed flat and disconnected from the intensity one would expect from a film of this nature.
The production quality also left much to be desired. Many fans speculated that the teaser may have been shot in a small room with little attention to detail, given the lack of actual film footage and the seeming absence of real content.
Despite the cool background music composed by Santhosh Narayanan and the colour grading from SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment, the overall feel of the teaser didn’t impress. In fact, some believe the lacklustre teaser was designed to make the film appear underwhelming at this stage.
Sikandar gears up for its Eid 2025 release. With the teaser not providing much hope, fans are left wondering if the trailer, songs and the final product will live up to expectations or continue this trend of disappointment. Let’s wait and watch to know!
