The return of Aamir Khan to the big screen has been eagerly awaited, but it seems it will take a bit longer than expected. Although there have been many rumours about his comeback, the Bollywood star recently shared new updates about his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par.
Speaking at the Republic Day event in Vadodara, he shared some interesting details about this sequel to Taare Zameen Par.
Aamir Khan Plans To Release The Film By This Year’s End
Aamir Khan revealed that Sitaare Zameen Par will continue the story of Taare Zameen Par, the 2007 film that starred Darsheel Safary and Khan himself. However, the sequel will bring a fresh plot and new emotions.
He also shared a major detail that caught the audience’s attention. The actor revealed that the film’s climax was shot in Vadodara. “The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is Sitaare Zameen Par, and the climax of that movie was shot in Vadodara,” he said.
Khan also discussed when the film might be released. “We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film, I like the story,” he added.
Aamir On His Connection To Gujarat
During his speech, Aamir Khan also spoke about his connection to Gujarat. He explained that many of his father’s films were shot there when he was young, which made the state special for him.
“When I was young, many of my father’s films were shot in Gujarat. I was very small at that time, so I would come here. Today, all those memories have come rushing back,” Khan recalled.
For the unversed, Khan is also working as a producer on another project, Lahore 1947. The film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, stars Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in lead roles. Additionally, he is set to make a cameo in Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie. He is also reviewing multiple scripts.
Besides this, he is supporting the upcoming release Loveyapa, which marks his son Junaid Khan’s big-screen debut.
