Aamir Khan Productions has unveiled the trailer of Sitaaron Ke Sitaare, a heartwarming documentary that shines the spotlight on the parents of young actors who featured in Sitaare Zameen Par. This emotional project turns the camera away from the screen and towards the families who quietly shaped the journey behind the scenes.
The trailer offers glimpses of intimate moments, shared struggles, pride, and the process of growing up alongside their children’s dreams. Sitaaron Ke Sitaare traces the lives, emotions, and everyday realities of the parents whose children became the sitaare of the sports comedy drama. While Aamir Khan starrer Sitaare Zameen Par emerged as a heartwarming family entertainer that resonated deeply with audiences, the documentary expands that emotional universe by focusing on the journeys that unfolded off screen.
An Unconventional Storytelling Approach
Directed by Shaanib Bakshi, the documentary continues Aamir Khan Productions’ pattern of taking unconventional routes to storytelling. This project follows the studio’s earlier decision to make Sitaare Zameen Par available on YouTube through the Janta Ka Theater initiative at a nominal price. That move challenged traditional distribution models and widened access for audiences across the country. Now the documentary is taking the same approach by premiering directly on YouTube.
The film builds upon the legacy of Sitaare Zameen Par, which starred Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles. The sports drama introduced ten rising talents to audiences including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. These young actors became the heart of the story.
Celebrating The Unsung Heroes
The documentary celebrates the parents as the unsung heroes who supported their children through the entire filmmaking process. From auditions to shooting schedules to managing education alongside acting, these families made countless sacrifices. Sitaaron Ke Sitaare gives them the recognition they deserve. The trailer shows emotional conversations, candid moments, and the pride that comes with seeing your child achieve their dreams on the big screen.
Sitaare Zameen Par was directed by R. S. Prasanna, who is known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The film released in theatres on June 20, 2025 and received positive responses from family audiences. The documentary adds another layer to that story by showing what happened behind the cameras.
