Actor Bobby Deol is riding high on the success of Animal, where he received praise for his impactful performance. As fans celebrate his achievement, talks of a sequel to his 1998 blockbuster, Soldier, have sparked considerable interest.
Soldier 2 CONFIRMED By Ramesh Taurani
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, veteran producer Ramesh Taurani confirmed that plans for Soldier 2 are underway, with shooting scheduled to commence next year.
He stated, “We are definitely making a sequel to Soldier. We will begin shooting for the film next year.”
While the original film starred Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta in iconic roles, Taurani hinted that the casting for the sequel remains uncertain and will depend on the evolving storyline.
“We aren’t sure about the cast yet. Depends on how the story shapes, we will take a call on whether Bobby and Preity will be a part of it,” said the filmmaker.
Earlier, Bobby Deol had expressed his enthusiasm for revisiting the Soldier franchise. Reflecting on his career, he said that Soldier holds a special place as one of his career-defining films. Deol shared his optimism about collaborating again with Taurani, especially after the success of Animal, hoping to bring Soldier 2 to fruition.

The journey of Soldier‘s casting was equally intriguing. In a throwback interview with Radio Nasha, director duo Abbas-Mustan revealed how Preity Zinta landed her breakthrough role in Soldier.
Initially slated for another project, Zinta impressed Taurani and the directors during a random meeting at the producer’s office. Despite her unscripted audition, her vibrant persona and natural charm won them over, leading to a three-film deal that included Soldier.

Looking ahead, Bobby Deol’s upcoming projects extend beyond Bollywood. Currently, he is reportedly engaged in multiple South Indian films, including Kanguva, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and NBK109.
Preity Zinta has also shot for Lahore 1947 with Sunny Deol, which is being produced under Aamir Khan’s home production.
