Ajay Devgn has officially kicked off filming for Son Of Sardaar 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 hit. While the production is underway, recent rumours have caused a stir among fans about the film’s casting.
Just before the official shoot announcement, reports surfaced suggesting that Sanjay Dutt, originally part of the cast, would be replaced by Ravi Kishan due to issues with Dutt’s UK visa.
A report from Mid-Day stated that since his arrest in 1993, Sanjay Dutt has applied for a UK visa several times but has never been granted one, despite being able to travel to the US. The Son Of Sardaar 2 shoot was supposed to be his first trip to the UK. However, when Ajay Devgn’s team learned that Dutt’s visa request had been denied, they decided to replace him with Ravi Kishan.
Sanjay Dutt Not Dropped From Son Of Sardaar 2, Ravi Kishan Has A Different Role
Bollywood Hungama sought clarification from a source close to the production, who dismissed the rumours.
The insider stated, “Sanjay Dutt remains an integral part of the film. The actor will be shooting extensively for the India schedule, as the character demands significant screen presence.” This statement confirms that Dutt’s involvement in the film is intact and that he will not be sidelined.
The source also confirmed that Ravi Kishan will indeed be joining the cast but not as a replacement for Dutt. Kishan will take on a pivotal role, while Dutt’s character will still have significant screen time during the India schedule.
Ajay Devgn Recently Shared A Glimpse From The Shoot
Recently, the film’s lead actor Aay Devgn shared a glimpse from the sets, making the beginning of the shoot. Sharing a video on his Instagram handle, he wrote, “The journey of #SonOfSardaar2 begins with prayers, blessings, and an amazing team🔥🙏”
The clip begins with him seeking blessings at a Gurudwara. It then features Devgn in his Sardaar look, Mrunal Thakur as the ‘soni Punjabi kudi,’ and Chunky Pandey dancing to a Punjabi beat. The video also showcases some beautiful UK locations, highlighting the film’s international shoot.
Son Of Sardaar 2 has seen some changes in its star cast over time. Initially, Sonakshi Sinha was replaced by Mrunal Thakur. The recent rumours of Sanjay Dutt’s replacement due to visa issues have been debunked. Dutt’s past legal issues were speculated to be the reason for his visa denial, leading to confusion about his role in the film.
