The Padma Shri-winning musician was performing at the grand finale of a local festival in Chembur when an MLA’s son and his nephew attacked him on the stage because they were denied their demand to take a selfie with Nigam. Some of the security guards were hurt while attempting to quell the mayhem.
According to recent reports, Sonu Nigam was taken to the hospital after a few individuals caused a significant uproar at his concert in Mumbai.
When the legendary singer Sonu Nigam was performing on the stage, a few people were trying to disrupt the concert. Reportedly, Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son and nephew were eager to take pictures with the performer. He and his squad got into a battle with the guards of Nigam. When the bodyguards and security tried to stop them from entering the stage, the situation got worse and caused chaos. On social media, a similar video has gone viral. Sonu was taken to the hospital right away after the tragedy, but it looks like the singer is recovering nicely. His close aide, Rabbani Khan (the son of his instructor, Ghulam Mustafa Khan), and his bodyguard are anticipated to have suffered some injuries.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Sonu Nigam also talked about the incident and said, “After the concert, I was coming down from the stage when a man called Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar held me. Then he pushed Hari & Rabbani who came to save me. Then I fell on the steps. I filed a complaint so that people should think about forcefully taking selfies & causing scuffles.”

Sonu Nigam has registered the case to the Mumbai police, who have now filed a case against the accused under sections 323, 341, and 337 of the IPC for using physical force, harming people, and risking their safety and wellbeing. In a statement to the media regarding the incident, the police stated that the accused is a man named Swapnil Phaterpekar.
