Ananya Panday has stepped out of Choomantar, the film that was supposed to reunite her with Maddock Films after earlier collaborations. The reason behind her exit is a scheduling conflict with Call Me Bae 2, which recently went on floors. Ananya Panday and the makers mutually decided to part ways, with plans to work together in the future.
The film, directed by Tarun Dudeja, was set to feature Abhay Verma opposite Ananya. Abhay became a breakout star after his performance in the 2023 sleeper hit Munjya, which was the eighth-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024. Now, with Ananya’s exit, Maddock Films has quickly restructured the cast with two talented actresses joining the project. The team is aiming to begin filming in January 2026, and preparations are moving ahead at full speed.
Sreeleela And Janki Bodiwala Step In
South sensation Sreeleela and National Award winner Janki Bodiwala are now expected to lead Choomantar alongside Abhay Verma. According to sources, a mock shoot with the trio took place last week to test their chemistry and finalize the casting. The response was reportedly positive, and workshops are likely to begin next week. This marks an exciting development for both actresses, as they step into a high-profile Maddock Films project.
Sreeleela is already making her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s musical featuring Kartik Aaryan. Adding Choomantar to her lineup will give her another strong project in Hindi cinema. Janki Bodiwala recently won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the Gujarati blockbuster Vash in 2023. Her entry into the Maddock Films universe is a big step forward in her career.
