
Taika Waititi is all set to direct and co-write a new Star Wars feature film for theatrical release. Waititi is quite famous for his 2019 released Jojo Rabbit for which he won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He also directed the first season finale episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+ which was widely-acclaimed.
Academy Award nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917, Last Night in Soho), will also be joining Waititi for the screenplay.
According to the reports, a new yet to be titled Star Wars series is being developed by Emmy nominated writer Leslye Headland for Disney+.
The release date for Waititi’s project has not yet been announced, while the project is in development.
