Stree 3 To Be An ‘Epic Saga’ – Script Ready & No 6-Year Wait For 3rd Instalment Of Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao’s Horror Comedy

Stree 3 script is almost ready and third part of this horror comedy won't take 6-year long time to hit the screens.

Stree 2, the hit sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy Stree, has quickly become a major success this year. With fans still buzzing about the film, the team behind the franchise is already looking ahead to the next chapter, Stree 3.

In a recent interview with IndianExpress.com, Abhishek Banerjee, who reprises his role as Janaa, revealed some exciting details about the upcoming sequel.

Stree 3 Set To Be A Big Epic Saga

He confirmed that the script for Stree 3 is complete and teased that it will be a “big epic saga.” Unlike the six-year gap between the releases of Stree and Stree 2, Banerjee assured fans that they won’t have to wait as long for the next instalment.

He said, “It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won’t take six years to make it, like we did with Stree 2. That’s for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor, I am dying to be back on that set.”

Aparshakti Khurana, who plays Bittu in the franchise, also shared his enthusiasm for Stree 3. He noted, “Stree 3’s frame was ready long back, much before Stree 2 released and now we are waiting for producer Dinesh Vijan and director Amar Kaushik to give more details.”

What Dinesh Vijan Said On Thrid Part During  Stree 2’s Event?

Producer Dinesh Vijan had previously hinted at the next film’s development during the Stree 2 trailer launch. He described Stree 2 as a “mothership” that answers many questions from the first film and teases what’s to come next.

Vijan confirmed that Stree 3 is already in the works and hinted at a film titled Thama to follow. He promised that Stree 3 would be bigger, madder, and crazier than its predecessors.

Rumours suggest that Stree 3 will feature a larger ensemble cast, with Akshay Kumar set to play a supervillain. Tamannah Bhatia, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ayushmann Khurrana are also reported to have joined the horror-comedy universe. The film is expected to hit cinemas in 2025.

Since its release on August 15, Stree 2 has already grossed Rs 284 crore in India within just six days. It is set to enter Rs 300 cr club soon.
