Sunny Deol is revisiting a title from his early years, and the new twist has put Rajveer Deol at the center of the conversation. Arjun, the 1985 action drama directed by Rahul Rawail, is now back in focus with plans to reintroduce the story through Sunny’s younger son.
That setup instantly makes the project more than a routine remake conversation. For Rajveer, it signals a possible move into a tougher, more mass-driven space after his debut arrived in a very different genre, while for Sunny Deol, it opens the door to reworking a film that still carries strong recall with Hindi cinema audiences.
Rajveer Deol Set To Lead The Arjun Revival
A close source said, “Sunny Sir is likely to remake the 1985 film Arjun, with his second son, Rajveer, in the lead. Arjun, directed by Rahul Rawail, was a social-political action drama with Sunny Deol in the lead. The original was shot on an extravagant budget for the ’80s, and it became one of the most appreciated films in Sunny’s career, with Rawail’s stylish shot-taking and intense action sequences. The development stands out because Rajveer’s screen journey is still at an early stage, and a role like Arjun would ask for a far more aggressive and emotionally charged register than his debut film did. The original Arjun was directed by Rahul Rawail and starred Sunny Deol in the title role. Its cast included Dimple Kapadia, Supriya Pathak, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Prem Chopra, and Shafi Inamdar. His next release will be Batwara 1947 on 14th August produced by Aamir Khan and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi.
Rajveer Deol, on the other hand, began with Dono in 2023, directed by Avnish Barjatya. That launch positioned him in a softer, romantic setting, which is why an Arjun remake would mark such a sharp repositioning. It would give him a chance to step into a more intense mainstream role, one linked to a film that already has a clear emotional memory for audiences.
