Sunny Deol praises Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana as the epic film wins big attention after release

Sunny Deol is wearing his excitement for Ramayana: Part 1 on his sleeve after the film’s release. The actor, who steps into the world of the mythological epic as Lord Hanuman, shared an emphatic Instagram reaction praising its scale, visual sweep and immersive world-building, while declaring that the film stands taller than any Hollywood spectacle.

Sunny Deol’s Strong Endorsement For Ramayana

In a video shared on Instagram on Saturday, Sunny praised the scale and visual ambition of the film after watching it. He said, “Main abhi-abhi apni Ramayana dekh kar aa raha hoon. Mujhe bahut-bahut achhi lagi. Aur main chahta hoon ki har Hindustani jaakar Ramayana dekhe. Kyunki yeh film kisi bhi Hollywood film se kam nahi hai, balki main kahoonga unse bhi better hai. Iske special effects toh iss tarah ke hain ki aapko pata hi nahi chalega ke aap us duniya mein nahi hain… Aapko us period mein le jaati hai.”

He ended the clip with the chant, “Jai Shri Ram”.

Sunny also added, “Aur har actor ne bahut achha kaam kiya hai. Isliye main aapse binti karta hoon… Binti nahi kar raha hoon, apna haq jama raha hoon, kyunki waqayi film bahut achhi hai. Jaake dekhiyega. Jai Shree Ram.”

Ramayana’s Cast And Release Details

Sunny’s reaction has landed at a moment when Ramayana: Part 1 is already being discussed as one of the biggest Hindi film events of the year, thanks to its star casting and large-scale adaptation of a story deeply rooted in Indian culture.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 is the opening chapter of a two-part retelling of the ancient Indian epic. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. Anupam Kher voices Jatayu, while Arun Govil, Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh feature in key roles.

Produced by Namit Malhotra, the film released in theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026. Sunny’s Hanuman appears in a post-credit moment, with the actor’s voice heard before the full visual reveal, giving the closing stretch an added surge.

Mounted as a large-scale mythological spectacle, the film leans heavily on visual effects and franchise storytelling, which also explains why Sunny’s praise has drawn immediate attention.

Sunny Deol’s Current Momentum With Ramayana

Ramayana: Part 1 adds another high-visibility title to Sunny’s renewed big-screen run after Gadar 2 in 2023 re-established him as a major theatrical draw. That resurgence gives extra weight to his endorsement of the film, especially because his appearance as Hanuman is positioned as a key franchise moment rather than a routine cameo.

The actor now sits at an interesting point in his career, balancing nostalgia-driven star power with fresh mainstream visibility. With Ramayana unfolding as a two-part saga, his association with the franchise is likely to remain an important part of that current phase.
