Supreme Court grants protection bail to Sherlyn Chopra in porn films racket case

On Friday, 4th February, the Supreme Court has issued a notice against the recent arrest order on model-actress Sherlyn Chopra. The actress was probed by the Mumbai Police in a porn film racket case, in these Shilpa Shetty’s husband businessman Raj Kundra is also one of the accused.

After her bail was rejected by the high court on November 25, Sherlyn drove this to the supreme court claiming that she had no role to play with the circulation of her videos on the websites which are banned in India and are based outside the country.

The bench in its statement said, “Issue notice… In the meanwhile, no coercive action shall be taken against the petitioner”. Advocate Sunil Fernandes, appearing for Chopra, submitted that protection has already been given to other accused in the case.
