EXCLUSIVE: T-Series Locks Ramayana Music Rights For Both Parts In ₹75 Crore Advance Deal

Before Ramayana has even reached theatres, the film is already commanding the kind of attention reserved for once in a generation spectacles. The latest move only adds to that aura. Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that T Series has secured the music rights for both parts of Ramayana in a deal structured as a ₹75 crore refundable advance, giving one of Indian cinema’s biggest upcoming franchises another major pre release win.

A close associate at T Series confirmed the structure of the pact, saying, “The Ramayana music rights deal is a two-part agreement with an advance of ₹75 crore. And it’s a refundable advance deal”.

A Soundtrack Bet Built For A Two Part Event Film

That agreement stands out not just for its scale, but for what it signals about the film’s long term value beyond the theatrical window. Music rights have become a serious revenue driver for event cinema, and Ramayana is being positioned in a league where songs, score, and audio branding are expected to travel across languages and markets long before release.

The timing of the acquisition also fits neatly into the film’s larger rollout. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is mounted as a mythological epic backed by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and DNEG, with Yash also on board as co producer through Monster Mind Creations. The film brings together Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, while the soundtrack has been associated with A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. That creative scale makes the music play an especially crucial role in how the franchise will be introduced to audiences.

The Diwali Rollout Gives The Music Rights Added Weight

The larger significance of the pact becomes clearer when placed against Ramayana’s release strategy. The first part is scheduled for Diwali 2026, with the second chapter planned for Diwali 2027, giving the franchise two consecutive festive corridors to build recall, emotional pull, and soundtrack longevity. For a project of this size, the music is not merely a supporting asset. It is part of the identity of the film itself.

That is why this move from T Series carries weight far beyond a routine acquisition. It places the label at the center of a franchise that is aiming for scale, prestige, and sustained cultural conversation across two years. With the film already drawing attention for its casting, staging, and mythological ambition, the music rights deal now adds another layer to the sense that Ramayana is being assembled as a full scale theatrical event with a carefully planned commercial ecosystem around it.
