Dharmatic Entertainment, the digital subsidiary of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is adding more titles to its line up. PeepingMoon.com has reported that the OTT content studio has a new web series with a quirky, tipsy name for Amazon Prime Video, starring Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role.
The show is billed as a startup dramedy centered around two women who explore the entrepreneurial path. Tamannah Bhatia, popularly known for SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise, has been locked for the lead role while the casting is still underway for the second heroine. The project is currently in pre-production and will go on floors in mid-March or early April.
Archit Kumar, who directed Imtiaz Ali’s SonyLIV series, Dr. Arora, will helm this light-hearted drama, marking his second Dharmatic venture after the upcoming tinseltown drama series, Showtime. Archit directs it along with Nishant Nayak, who has previously worked on Shark Tank India, Coke Studio and many other unscripted shows. Nandini Gupta, Mithun Gangopadhyay and Aarsh Vora are the writers.
With this, Dharmatic Entertainment continues its partnership with Amazon Prime Video. The show will mark their third joint endeavor following the upcoming Sara Ali Khan starrer freedom-fighter story, Ae Watan Mere Watan, and Ananya Panday-led Call Me Bae. For Tamanaah, it will be her third web series, following Amazon Prime’s Jee Kardaand Disney+Hotstar’s mystery thriller, Aakhiri Sach.
