Saif Ali Khan is all set to come up with yet another web series Tandav. Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar will be venturing into the web world with this political drama. However, according to the reports, Ali Abbas Zafar reportedly kept writer Gaurav Solanki offset.
When the question raised in front of Saif he also backed the director and stated that it’s not a writer’s place to be on set and direct.
Well, according to the Tanhaji actor, it is the director’s call to make on what they do with the source material – whether he decides to completely scrap it or burn it.
Saif says that the director either respect or disrespect it as per the story he wants to tell. He added that Ali Abbas Zafar has made most of the material.
Although the actor also ensured that the writers should be treated with respect and dignity. He thinks since they create everything they should be treated with more praise, money, and love. He called Gaurav Solanki is a gem.
The actor thinks since the director is the boss on the set, he should e making all the designs. Even though Gaurav thinks the material has been tampered with, this shouldn’t be a part of the conversation.
Saif will be seen playing an aspiring Prime Minister, talking about his character Saif said, “It is a show based on politics and is set on a massive scale. I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House Of Cards, although set within the framework of Indian politics. The plot takes into account various factions like Dalit politics and UP cops and the whole nexus between them,”
Earlier in an interview, the actor said, “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and aspires to become the Prime Minister.”
