Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s latest horror-comedy Thamma has become one of the most discussed releases of the season. After an elaborate star-studded screening attended by Ayushmann, Rashmika, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, social media was abuzz with a new rumor — an alleged still from the post-credit scene that appears to feature actress Aneet Padda in a never-seen-before avatar.
A Mysterious Still Sparks Online Frenzy
Soon after the film’s screening, a Twitter post by a fan account went viral featuring a woman in a white lehenga walking through a misty forest, illuminated by an eerie blue glow. The caption read: “#AneetPadda as #ShaktiShalini. Post-credit scene #Thamma.” The image instantly ignited speculation that Padda might be joining Maddock Films’ expanding horror-comedy universe that includes Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.
While there has been no official confirmation, the visual has drawn massive attention from fans eager to see how Thamma connects to the larger supernatural universe. Interestingly, reports earlier suggested that Varun Dhawan was expected to make a cameo in the post-credit sequence, linking Bhediya to this new chapter.
Is Aneet Padda the New Shakti Shalini?
According to industry chatter, Aneet Padda was in advanced talks to step into the role of Shakti Shalini, originally rumored to be offered to Kiara Advani. Director Aditya Sarpotdar, however, addressed the speculation last month, saying it was “too early” to confirm casting updates. “I am sure there are discussions happening with actors. But until I am aware of who is locked in officially, it is premature to talk about it,” he had said.
The resurfacing of this viral still, however, has reignited curiosity around Padda’s potential debut in this interconnected horror-comedy world. If true, her addition could mark the beginning of a new female-led storyline that ties together the Streeverse.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma reportedly stands as India’s most expensive horror-comedy film, following the success of Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022). With Ayushmann’s signature wit and Rashmika’s charm, the film has already drawn praise for its balance of humor, folklore, and fright.
