In a recent interview, the director opened up about his dream of bringing the superstar into the popular horror comedy universe that has given us films like Stree, Stree 2, and Munjya. His vision for SRK’s role is not as a villain but as a hero who brings everyone together to fight evil, much like Captain America or Iron Man in the Marvel universe.
Aditya Sarpotdar shared that if Shah Rukh Khan becomes part of this universe, so much can be done. He wondered what kind of character the superstar would play and confirmed that Shah Rukh would definitely have a standalone film. The excitement in his voice was clear as he imagined the possibilities. Having Shah Rukh Khan in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe would be a game changer, and it would take the franchise to a whole new level. Fans have already seen a glimpse of Akshay Kumar in Stree 2, who is expected to become the Thanos of the universe, so adding SRK would create an even bigger impact.
Shah Rukh Khan Should Not Be The Villain
The director made it clear that Shah Rukh Khan should not play a negative role in the horror comedy universe. While acknowledging that SRK has delivered great villain performances in films like Darr and Ram Jaane, Aditya believes that now he is the hero and the superstar. According to him, Shah Rukh should do something that brings everyone together. He compared the role to Captain America or Iron Man rather than Thanos. He should be the one wearing the glove and doing that final click at the end. That is what a superstar does, according to the director.
Shah Rukh Khan Needs Something Bigger
Aditya Sarpotdar also pointed out that Shah Rukh Khan has already done Ra.One and other superhero films in his own way and space, and he has done them really well. To top that, the filmmakers need something crazier, bigger, more scaled up, and something audiences have never thought of. This shows the director’s understanding that bringing SRK into the universe is not just about casting a big star, but about creating a character and story worthy of his stature.
