The Odyssey: Christopher Nolan’s Tom Holland Starrer Opens India Advance Booking On June 8

Christopher Nolan’s cinema has always treated the big screen like sacred ground, and Indian fans are now getting an early seat at the table. With The Odyssey racing toward its July theatrical release, the film’s IMAX advance booking window in India has been confirmed for June 8, giving Nolan loyalists a chance to lock their seats more than a month before the film arrives in cinemas.

The move adds fresh heat to what is already one of Hollywood’s most closely watched 2026 releases. Nolan, fresh from the awards-season dominance of Oppenheimer, is returning with a mythic epic led by Matt Damon and featuring Tom Holland in a major role.

India Advance Booking Opens On June 8

IMAX tickets for The Odyssey will go on sale in India from June 8, 2026. The film releases in cinemas across India on July 17, 2026, placing Indian audiences among the earliest in the world to book tickets for its premium-format run.

Denzil Dias, Vice President and Managing Director, Warner Bros Discovery India, said, “The Odyssey is the first film in cinema history to be shot entirely on IMAX cameras, a milestone Christopher Nolan spent nearly twenty years working toward.”

He further added, “On June 8, for the first time in India, Nolan fans will be amongst the first in the world to be able to book their favourite seats alongside their fellow Christopher Nolan fans around the world. For Nolan fans in India, this is a moment worth marking. For the first time, they book their seats alongside the rest of the world, for the first film in history made entirely on IMAX cameras.”

What The Odyssey Brings To The Big Screen

The Odyssey is written and directed by Christopher Nolan and is based on Homer’s foundational Greek epic. Nolan and Emma Thomas produce the film through Syncopy, with Universal Pictures distributing the project.

The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope. The ensemble also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron and Jon Bernthal. The story follows Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he attempts to return home after the fall of Troy, navigating danger, temptation and mythic forces on his long journey back to Penelope.

Tom Holland’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Tom Holland’s recent screen run has kept him moving between franchise spectacle and more dramatic territory. He led the action adventure Uncharted in 2022 as Nathan Drake opposite Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas. Before that, he reprised Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021, a global blockbuster that became the highest-grossing film of that year.

On streaming, Holland headlined the 2023 limited series The Crowded Room, playing Danny Sullivan opposite Amanda Seyfried. His next confirmed theatrical release is The Odyssey in 2026, followed by his return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, also listed among his upcoming 2026 films.
