The RajaSaab Bookings Yet To Begin In National Chains: Dhurandhar 2 Vs Toxic Show Sharing Talks Hit Deadlock, Prabhas Starrer Faces Last Minute Hurdle

The RajaSaab starring Prabhas is all set to release on January 9, but bookings are yet to fully open across the Hindi belt. The national chains have not commenced ticket sales, and the reason involves a complicated negotiation over screen sharing for Yash‘s upcoming film Toxic.

According to trade sources, only single screen cinemas and smaller chains have begun bookings for The RajaSaab. National chains along with Miraj and Maxus cinemas are yet to start ticket sales, not just for the Prabhas starrer but also for other films releasing tomorrow.

AA Films Wants Shows For Toxic In Exchange

The distributors of The RajaSaab, AA Films, are reportedly asking national chains to give considerable shows to Toxic starring Yash. Only then will these cinemas get to play The RajaSaab. This condition has created a standoff between the distributors and the theatre chains.

The theatre chains have not agreed to this demand because Toxic clashes with Dhurandhar 2 on March 19. The theatres have earned a huge amount of money from Dhurandhar‘s first part, which is still running in cinemas. They know that Dhurandhar 2 will have an earth shattering opening.

Theatres Do Not Want To Short Change Dhurandhar 2

While theatre chains are aware that Toxic can be a crowd puller after its teaser release created a massive buzz, they do not want to make any deal at this point. Most importantly, they do not want to short change Dhurandhar 2 by committing shows to Toxic in advance. This is where the matter has been stuck.

However, sources suggest the issue is expected to be resolved by Thursday evening at the most. Neither the distributors nor the cinemas would benefit if advance sales are kept on hold until the eleventh hour. Bookings are expected to open full fledged once the negotiations conclude.

Hyderabad Bookings Delayed Due To Different Reason

In the capital city of Hyderabad, The RajaSaab bookings have not commenced due to a different reason. There was reportedly a disagreement between the makers and the Telangana government over raising ticket prices for the Prabhas starrer. Thankfully, the Telangana High Court on Thursday, January 8, granted relief to the makers on this matter.

A government order is expected by Thursday evening, and once that happens, ticket sales would begin in Hyderabad. The paid previews on January 8 from 9 PM onwards are fast filling across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, except Hyderabad.
