After the unfortunate incident happened a few days back where Sushant Singh Rajput ended his life by suicide, whole Bollywood has shaken and the main finger has started to point on people in the industry.
While the hot topic was nepotism and favoritism in the industry. Adding more fuel to the fire Bollywood music space has also jumped into the debate.
Well, everything was started with Sonu Nigam, in a vlog, said, “I want to request everyone and especially our music companies to be kind because today an actor – Sushant Sigh Rajput – has passed away, tomorrow you can hear the same about a singer or a composer or a lyrics writer because unfortunately there is an even bigger mafia in the music industry than in the film industry.”
The singer also said, “young and struggling musicians are distressed because the composer would want to work with them, the producer and director would want to work with them but the music company would say ‘no, this is not our artist’. This is not right that the power is in the hands of two music companies only.” He also made the charge that “Even directors and producers are not happy because they are not being allowed to make the music that they wish to.”
This instigated a debate when few well-known members of the music industry spoke to the media and contradicted these charges. Then Sonu named T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and claimed that Bhushan was trying to emphatically counter his views by getting other singers to speak against him.
Now, Bhushan’s director-actor wife Divya Khosla Kumar, put out an 11 minutes video, where she said, “I’m seeing people being able to sell lies and deceits with their strong campaigns. #SonuNigam such kind of people know how to play with the minds of the audience… Such people are thankless.” Divya uploaded the video with the caption, “The Bitter Truth #SonuNigam”
T-Series is by far the biggest player in the Hindi film music industry.
Divya Khosla Kumar also added that after Sonu Nigam’s video, her husband has been receiving “death threats”, she has been receiving “rape threats”, and even her child is being “threatened” on social media.
