Workers worked in Akshay Kumar starrer Selfiee have not received the payments yet. The workers working in the film have now appealed to the Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union for help to get their money back.
According to a statement issued by the Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union, most of the workers who set up the sets during the shooting of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee are yet to get their money. Same is the case with Mithun Chakraborty, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Sunny Deol starrer film Baap and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer film Om. It is alleged that the money of the setting laborers working in these films has not been paid yet. In this regard, the workers also appealed to BJP leader and MP Sunny Deol for help, but it had no effect.
Union President Ashok Dubey has informed that the setting members of Film Studios Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union worked from January to April 2021 for the film Om. Its producer Ahmed Khan has not yet paid the dues of more than Rs 21.50 lakh. The laborers working in another film Baap of his company called Paper Doll Entertainment also owe almost the same amount to the producer of the film. The matter regarding this dues had heated up between the laborers and the art director of the film, then the matter had reached the police station.

According to the statement of the union, apart from this, the payment of about Rs 13.50 lakh to the laborers working in Dharma Production’s film Selfiee has not yet been made. The contract for setting up the sets for this film was also with Paper Doll Entertainment. According to Dubey, on July 14, 2021, the Labor Commissioner’s office had given written instructions to all the filmmakers that the laborers would be paid directly by the filmmakers, but still all the producers are getting their work done through contractors. In this statement, the union has also issued a warning not to work with Paper Doll Entertainment and producer Ahmed Khan if the dues are not paid soon.
Sunny Deol Starrer Baap Also Failed To Pay Workers
In this whole matter, the story of BJP leader and MP Sunny Deol’s film Baap is even more interesting. According to union officials, during the shooting of this film this month, the workers working in Film City refused to work due to non-payment of salaries. The set of this film was also installed by Paper Doll Entertainment and seeing the matter getting worse, a written assurance was given that the whole matter would be resolved after meeting. But till now this payment has not been done. In this regard, the stand of Executive Producer Sunita Tripathi on behalf of Paper Doll Entertainment has been that she has made full payment to her contractor Prabhat Thakur in this regard.
