Theatre Owners Want 10% Extra Share Over Thalapathy Vijay Starrer ‘Master’ And The Reason Is Releasing Of The Film So Soon On OTT

Vijay Sethupathi and Thalapathy Vijay Starrer Master was a massive hit at the box office. The film did something beyond expectations in a COVID-19 crisis as it has managed to cross the 100 crore. It had attracted the audience to theatres in a huge number and theatre owners couldn’t thank enough.

But to our surprise yesterday, the film’s official arrival on Amazon Prime Video was announced. This move by the makers of the movie has left everyone puzzled as the film is still doing wonders at the ticket windows. In fact, the Lokesh Kangaraj directorial hasn’t even completed its 3-week run and the film has already got its digital premiere date i.e. 29th January.

To which the theatre owners have now expressed their disapproval to the makers. In order to compensate for the unfavourable decision, the owners of the theatres are now asking for 10 per cent additional share on the first week and second week’s business done by the movie. And reportedly, the producers have refused to give an extra share. The makers believe that the film has provided the much-needed business to theatres, and they are in no mood to shed extra money to them.

Reconsidering the demand of an additional share, the makers of the movie and the theatre owners are said to hold another meeting. Let’s see what happens!
