With less than 36 hours remaining until the release of Adipurush, the anticipation among fans is reaching new heights. The advance ticket sales have kicked off to an incredible start, indicating that the upcoming Prabhas-starrer is poised for a massive opening at the box office. Adipurush has been making headlines for several reasons, and one particularly noteworthy announcement from the filmmakers captured attention recently. They revealed that in every screening of the film across the country, a seat will be left vacant as a mark of respect for Lord Hanuman.
We have come across some intriguing details regarding this unique and unprecedented element. According to a reliable source, the seats designated for Lord Hanuman will not remain unoccupied. Major multiplex chains such as Miraj and Inox have made arrangements to install a small ‘aasan’ or seat, where either an idol or a photograph of Lord Hanuman will be placed.
These dedicated seats will be adorned with fresh flowers, which will be replaced daily as an offering to the deity. It is worth noting that the decision to implement this practice has not been imposed by the distributors or filmmakers; rather, it is the exhibitors’ personal expression of their devotion to Lord Hanuman. As per the distributor’s guidance, the reserved seat for Lord Hanuman will be positioned in the front row, discreetly tucked away in a corner.
Furthermore, the source mentioned that PVR, one of the prominent multiplex chains, is also expected to adopt a similar approach. There is a possibility that certain single-screen theaters and other multiplex chains might follow suit as well, embracing this concept. Another source from a multiplex shared their perspective, stating that placing the idol or picture of Lord Hanuman on the designated seat serves the purpose of ensuring that the seat remains unoccupied, preventing any accidental disturbance such as kicking or littering. Considering the sensitivity of the matter, the multiplex’s decision is considered appropriate.
