Toxic Music Rights Sold To Zee Music Company In One Of Its Biggest Acquisitions As Yash Film Readies 2026 Release

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is stacking up big-ticket moves even before its theatrical bow. In the latest development, Zee Music Company has officially come on board for the film’s music rights in what is being positioned as one of the label’s most significant acquisitions in recent years, plugging into the makers’ aggressive pan-India and global rollout plan.

Zee Music Company Locks Music Rights For Toxic Across Languages

The collaboration brings the entire soundtrack of Toxic under Zee Music Company for a unified multi-language release across Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Confirming the intent behind the partnership, Sujal Parekh, Chief Business Officer at Zee Music Company, said in a statement, “Toxic, the film, represents the true spirit of pan-India cinema, a story, a scale, and a vision that transcend language and regional boundaries.” Parekh added, “We are proud to bring its entire soundtrack across Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam under one unified platform, ensuring a seamless and powerful nationwide musical rollout.

From the producers’ side, Venkat K. Narayana, Chairman of KVN Productions, underlined that the music is central to the film’s identity. “Toxic demands a soundscape that’s bold, disruptive, and truly unforgettable,” he said, adding that the Zee association is “the start of a long-term relationship between KVN and Zee” aimed at pushing “cinematic music into uncharted territories.”

A Multi-Composer Album Led By Ravi Basrur, Vishal Mishra And Tanishk Bagchi

Unlike the single-composer model, Toxic is building a “high-impact” album with multiple voices shaping its sonic palette. Vishal Mishra has composed four songs, while Tanishk Bagchi contributes one track co-composed with Arslan Nizami and Faheem Abdullah. Ravi Basrur is set to deliver one song and also compose the film’s background score, signalling a scale-first approach to both songs and storytelling atmosphere.

The makers have also been drip-feeding the film’s universe through promotional reveals, including the teaser that sparked intense online decoding and discussion around Yash’s character setups, with the actor confirmed to be playing dual roles, including Raya and a second avatar named Ticket.

What We Know About Toxic So Far

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas, who has also co-written the film with Yash. The film stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film has been shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The premise is being kept tightly under wraps by the team, with the marketing leaning into a darker, stylised action world. The film is currently slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

Yash’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Yash was last seen in Prashanth Neel’s K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022), which emerged as a major blockbuster and cemented his pan-India stardom. After a four-year gap from on-screen appearances, Toxic is positioned as his big return as both actor and creative stakeholder, with Yash also credited as co-writer and co-producer.

Beyond Toxic, Yash is also confirmed to be part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he is set to play Ravan, with Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita.
