The release of the eagerly anticipated rom-com movie ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ is less than two weeks away, and fans are already stoked for it. The trade anticipates that Luv Ranjan’s film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, will have a strong opening weekend at the box office as the success of its trailer and soundtrack have already gripped the entire nation. And if sources are to be believed, the makers may release it earlier than anticipated.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is scheduled to release on Wednesday, March 8. But the producers are toying with the idea of preponing it and releasing it a day earlier, on Tuesday, March 7.”
The source continued, “The second day of Holi falls on March 7. There has been confusion over this aspect. In many places, the Holi holiday will be on March 7. To take advantage of it, the makers felt that it was wise to come on March 7 since that’s when it’ll get maximum footfalls. A decision will be taken in a few days. If ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ gets ready in time, it’ll be out on Tuesday, March 7. Or else, it’ll arrive in cinemas on March 8, as scheduled.”
If the Ranbir-Shraddha starrer ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, hits the big screen on March 7, It will enjoy an extended six-day weekend. This is an unconventional move, as most filmmakers tend to release their movies on Thursdays, Fridays or occasionally on Wednesdays, to coincide with festive holidays. However, last year’s Diwali releases, Ram Setu featuring Akshay Kumar and Thank God featuring Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh, were also released on a Tuesday, specifically on October 25th, which was the day after Diwali. Similarly, more than a decade ago, the 2012 Diwali releases, Jab Tak Hai Jaan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Son Of Sardaar featuring Ajay Devgn, were both released on a Tuesday.
