Gulshan Devaiah is known for his honest approach and stellar performances. The actor, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Ulajh, recently held an AMA session with Reddit fans on July 16, where he opened up about onscreen intimacy.
Gulshan Devaiah Finds Intimate Scenes Boring
Reflecting on his early career, where he performed intimate scenes in films like Hate Story and Hunterrr, Gulshan candidly shared his thoughts on these experiences. When asked by a fan about shooting such scenes, he admitted, “Bahot boring tha, aur abhi bhi bahot boring hai. Sirf tum log ko dekhke maza aata hai” (It was very boring and is still boring. Only you people enjoy while watching it).
On whether Films Like Badhaai Do Effected His Career
Gulshan received widespread acclaim for his role in the 2022 film Badhaai Do, which progressively told an LGBTQIA+ story.
During the AMA session, a fan asked if he believed the film paved the way for more such stories or if he feared it would hurt his career.
Confident in the impact of such narratives, Gulshan responded, “A love story is a love story.” He expressed his belief that more films like Badhaai Do would be made in the future, showcasing his support for diverse storytelling.
When asked about a film he would like to have in his filmography, Gulshan mentioned the 2018 crime comedy Andhadhun. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu, and Radhika Apte, Andhadhun was both a critical and commercial success. Gulshan’s admiration for the film highlights his appreciation for well-crafted cinema.
