Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her latest film, Ulajh, hitting cinemas tomorrow. In a recent appearance on IMDb’s exclusive segment ‘On The Scene’, Kapoor and her co-star Roshan Mathew discussed their roles in the political thriller, directed by Sudhanshu Saria. The film is set to offer audiences a gripping narrative of love, sacrifice, and resilience against formidable odds.
Janhvi Kapoor On Why She Will Never Go Bald For A Role
During the interview, Janhvi Kapoor shared a surprising stance on what she would refuse to do for a role. Despite the lure of a life-changing opportunity, she made it clear she would never go bald.
Kapoor explained, “They can just put a bald cap on or use VFX. I have dislocated my shoulder, I’ve bled, broken bones, and put myself through all kinds of trauma and torture, but going bald is something I refuse to do.”
She recalled a past incident when cutting her hair for Dhadak led to her mother Sridevi’s strong objections. “I remember during Dhadak when I cut my hair, my mom yelled at me a lot and she was like, ‘how could you? Do not cut your hair for any role.’ Every third or fourth day, she used to put oil in my hair and massage my head. She was very proud of my hair. So I will not cut my hair.”
If Ulajh Is Remade In Malayalam
Janhvi’s co-star Roshan Mathew discussed his casting preferences if the film were remade in Malayalam. He mentioned actors Grace Antony and Anna Ben as ideal choices, particularly for roles in the film. “I think she will kill it,” Mathew said of Anna Ben. As for Gulshan Devaiah’s role, Mathew suggested he might play it himself, noting his strong interest in the character since reading the script.
Mathew also spoke about his personal experiences during filming. He revealed a memorable moment when he had to retake an eight-minute shot numerous times. “I was desperately hoping that was going to be it. People stopped counting at one point and said, ‘No, no stop yelling out the number, it’s going to make everybody nervous.’”
Mathew highlighted the technical complexities involved, which contributed to the extensive retakes.
