Uunchai Producers Urge Audiences To See The Movie In Theatres As Its OTT Release Unlikely Soon

It grossed more than Rs 30 crore in home theatres.

The film’s creators announced on Tuesday that they want Uunchai to have “a robust and long run” in theatres, which was spurred on by the great reception to the movie. The fourth week of the November 11 release of the Rajshri Productions film has seen it remain in theatres. Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and Danny’s film Uunchai reportedly grossed more than Rs 30 crore in home theatres.

The cast and crew of the Hindi-language adventure drama thanked everyone for the outpouring of support in a statement posted by the production banner on Instagram.

“A special shoutout to every member of the audience who went to the theatre with family and loved ones and contributed to making Uunchai an exclusive BIG screen experience.”

“As Uunchai continues to run in theatres in its 4th week, we as a unit stand proud and humbled. It is the desire of our hearts to see Uunchai have a strong and long run at the theatres and therefore, Uunchai will not have an online release very soon,” the team said in a statement.

They said that Uunchai was the result of seven years of commitment, work, and devotion. Director Sooraj Barjatya is back with a movie about four friends in their golden years after helming Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015.
