Varun Dhawan has clarified details about his upcoming film Baby John. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, the movie is an adaptation of the 2016 Tamil hit Theri. However, it’s not a direct remake. Slated for release on 25 December, the action drama has already captured attention for its fresh spin on the original story.
Varun Dhawan Warns Some Viewers Will Be ‘Disappointed’ By Baby John
At a recent press event, Varun shared insights into the creative approach of Baby John. He explained that the film has been significantly reimagined and isn’t a frame-by-frame recreation of Theri.
According to him, when Atlee pitched the project, he emphasised the need to adapt the story for a different setting. This required major changes to the geography, characters, and narrative structure.
Varun added that viewers should not expect a scene-by-scene replica (book-by-book adaptation) of the Tamil film. He acknowledged that some fans might feel disappointed if they anticipate a direct remake, but stressed that the film stands out for its unique adaptation.
