Varun Dhawan Credits Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor For Starting Parallel Cinema, Later Clarifies When Trolled!

Varun has reacted to these trolls in his own style.

In addition to Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan also appears in the family comedy JugJugg Jeeyo, which is now being promoted. In a recent interview, Varun claimed that his co-star Anil’s son Harsh Vardhan Kapoor founded the parallel cinema movement, and for this, he came under fire from online trolls.

The film’s principal actors were talking with FC about how parents have thought about their celebrity children’s Bollywood film choices. Kiara added that even though she doesn’t come from a film family, her father was surprised when she chose the Ruchi Narain’s thriller Guilty. Varun claimed that his father David Dhawan was shocked when he chose the Sriram Raghavan thriller Badlapur.

Adding on, Varun remarked that the same question must be asked to Anil as he said, “because actually the parallel cinema movement has been started by Harsh”.

Internet users began mocking the Coolie No. 1 actor, comparing him to actors like Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Farooq Sheikh, Amol Palekar, and others who made the parallel cinema popular in the 1970s.

Now, Varun has reacted to these trolls in his own style as he took to Twitter and wrote, “Hey guys maybe I misspoke but definitely applaud him for his love for the cinema he does and it takes guts and I enjoyed his films, but getting trolled ka alag maza hain thank u for watching my interviews”.

In his tweet, he was talking about enjoying Harsh’s movies such as Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, Ray, and AK vs AK.
