Varun Dhawan is gearing up for another exciting project, and this time, he’s teaming up with his father, the renowned filmmaker David Dhawan, for a romantic comedy.
Following a series of successful comedies, this father-son duo is ready to bring more laughs and love to the screen. The movie, which is yet to be titled, will also feature Mrunal Thakur and Kannada actress Sreeleela in significant roles.
Varun Dhawan To Start Shooting For David Dhawan’s Rom-Com From July 12
Reports indicate that Varun, who has recently completed filming for Baby John, will start shooting this new rom-com on 12 July. With just days to go before filming begins, the cast has already started table reads to get into character.
A source shared to Mid-day, “The shoot starts at Mehboob Studios in Bandra on 12 July. A huge set has been erected, and over the first week, David will shoot indoor scenes with the leading man at the venue. The schedule has been planned in such a way that the team will film in the Bandra studio through the monsoons, after which they will move to other locations.”
This film marks Varun’s fourth collaboration with his father, following their successful projects Main Tera Hero (2014), Judwaa 2 (2017), and Coolie No 1 (2020). If everything goes according to plan, they aim to wrap up the filming by Diwali.
A source previously revealed some intriguing details about the film’s plot to Pinkvilla, stating, “Much like all David Dhawan comedies, this one is also a love triangle where the humour is a result of confusion in the leading man’s life.” This hints at a classic David Dhawan-style film filled with hilarious misunderstandings and comedic twists.
More About The Film & Varun’s Work Front
Produced by Ramesh Taurani under the TIPS Entertainment banner, the film boasts a stellar cast. Alongside Varun, Mrunal, and Sreeleela, popular actor Maniesh Paul is also part of the project. This marks a reunion for Varun and Maniesh, who previously worked together in Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
Varun, who recently embraced fatherhood, will be juggling this project with another film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan. Despite his busy schedule, Varun seems excited about his upcoming projects and is ready to bring his A-game to the screen.
